Visitor Numbers

The number of visitors will be restricted to ensure social distancing

We will restrict the number of people, including staff, in the gift shop and Visitor Centre at any given time to make sure that each group (household/family/friends) can always remain at least 2 metres from the next group.

Entry to the Visitor Centre will be controlled to ensure social distancing between groups. To help us manage this, only one group can be in the shop, smiddy and radar hut and two in the engine room at any time.  Please wait at the entrance to the gift shop until staff indicate that it is safe to enter.

This could result in a short queue, but staff will advise you of expected wait times and there is plenty to see outside if you prefer to wait and come back at a quieter time.

One-way

We have introduced a new one-way system, clearly signposted by our mascot Norie and footprints on the ground.

The new route enters the gift shop by the main door and leaves through the engine room, then moves onto the smiddy before entering the Marine Life Centre by the bottom door and continuing to the upper level and leaving by the door on the upper level before finishing your tour at the radar hut.

If you are visiting the shop only to purchase gifts or ice creams, entry is by the main door and exit through the engine room.

Visitor Centre

The Visitor Centre has been split into four zones and entry controlled to enable you to maintain social distancing
