Accommodation

Kitchen Kitchen The views, and atmosphere at Sumburgh Head can vary from hour to hour depending on the time of year, the weather and the company.  In order to experience the full effect of an early morning summer sunrise, or a powerful winter storm, the self-catering accommodation in the restored Lighthouse Keepers cottage is the perfect way to complete your Sumburgh Head visit.

The cottage has been sympathetically restored to the original layout, as it would have been in Stevenson's day, retaining original features and adding little touches of luxury.  After a long day sight-seeing or simply watching the comically-beautiful Puffins on the cliffs, what better way to relax than in the comfortable lounge room with satellite television and wi-fi; or soaking in a hot bath, after enjoying a deliciously home-cooked meal in the traditional kitchen, complete with Aga.

The original flagstone floors have been re-laid, with underfloor heating provided by the environmentally friendly ground source heat pump.

Double Bedroom Double Bedroom The cottage sleeps up to five people in three rooms - a double, twin (bunk beds), and single room.
