Final Blast for the Last Weekend of Sumburgh Head!

It's our final weekend and we're going out with a bang, or rather a blast of the Sumburgh Head Foghorn.

The Foghorn, which was last used for navigation in 1987 has been carefully restored by Retained Lightkeeper Brian Johnson as part of the restoration of Sumburgh Head. Brian will start the engines at midday this Saturday 5th October to mark the final weekend of our Visitor Centre here at Sumburgh Head. Ticketholders are welcome to join Brian in the engine room from midday to watch as he fires up the engines and compressors.

Visitor Centre open 11am - 5:30pm

Cafe open 10am - 5pm, Wednesday - Sunday.

Last day of 2019 Season: Sunday 6th October
