Full House for Film Showing

The Education Centre at Sumburgh Head was full to capacity last night for a special showing of Shetland filmmaker, Jenny Gilbertson's. 'In Sheep's Clothing'.

Shona Main introduced the film reading excerpts from Jenny Gilbertson’s diaries with vivid accounts of her arrival in Lerwick and contextualised her work by explaining the processes of her documentary film making and the way in which Jenny had focussed on the people of Shetland.

The audience included Jenny Gilbertson’s daughter’s Anne Black and Helen Thomson, and Winnie Kay who had been Jenny’s home help.

It was an historic moment as it was the first time the silent film had been accompanied by a live score written and performed by Barry Nisbet from Yell.
