Early Birds Go “Cheap” to Sumburgh Head as Part of the Opening Day Celebrations

To mark the start of our 2019 season we are offering a great day out at Sumburgh Head! Come down to our Visitor Centre on 30th March to join in our opening celebrations and receive up to 25% discount on your entrance fee.

Early Bird ticket holders are invited to a guided tour starting at 11:30am, taking in the history of Sumburgh Head Lighthouse and its Keepers. Join Retained Lightkeeper Brian Johnson in the Engine Room at 12pm as he fires up the engines and compressors ready to welcome in the new season with a big blast of the restored Sumburgh Foghorn.

As part of our opening day celebrations we’re offering one lucky person the chance to help Brian open the final valve and start the Sumburgh Foghorn. Three runners up can also start the engines and all four winners will receive a free season ticket to our Visitor Centre.

Enter our competion here.

The Visitor Centre will stay open until 5:30pm so that ticket-holders can explore all our interactive displays including the Marine Life Centre, Engine Room, Smiddy and World War II Radar Hut. Tickets are valid for the entire season and with so much to see we hope to welcome you back to Sumburgh Head!
