Shetland Landscape by Connie Flynn Connie is a textile and stained glass maker who’s multi skilled practice has evolved through experimenting and combining traditional techniques and modern practices.
She uses a variety of materials – textiles, glass and paper to work with both hand and machines skills. These processes often represent social, cultural concepts, crossing cultural and contextual boundaries between traditional craft and contemporary art.
Connie will give a talk about her responses to creating textile work while at Sumburgh Head. This will be held on Wednesday 24th June at 2.00pm, and repeated at 6.00pm.
These talks are free to attend and will take place in the Education Centre. The Gift Shop and exhibition spaces will remain open late.
Connie's ongoing work will also be displayed in an open studio at the Muckle Roe Light in the lower car park on Sunday 28th June between 11.00am and 4.00pm. All are welcome.
